I worked for 30 hours painting this portrait of the famous artist Jack Vettriano, including a scene from one of his paintings in the background.

I travelled 100 miles to London to meet Jack at a book signing event.

After queuing for 4 hours to meet him, I got my chance.

I said to Jack “I have only been painting for 2 years”, he replied “It took me 18 years to get that good!”

Jack turned the painting over and wrote a l lovely inscription on the back: “Well done Paul, Best Wishes, Jack Vettriano”
