After reading that Nigella would be having a book signing event in Bristol on 29th November 2007, I worked for over 40 hours to paint her portrait from a photograph I saw online.
I also added 24ct Gold Leaf onto the ring in the painting.
I travelled for 3 hours to Cribbs Causeway shopping centre in Bristol , where Nigella was giving a book signing of her new book 'Nigella Express'.
I queued for 4 hours and it was worth the wait, Nigella was extremely warm hearted and friendly and made lovely compliments about the painting and chatted for a few minutes with me.
Nigella even asked her assistant to take a photo of my painting for her. Then made a wonderful inscription “Thank you! Love Nigella.”
I also had a copy of her book, in which she wrote “For Paul the painter, with love, Nigella.”
A wonderful, warm and beautiful lady, a pleasure to spend a few moments with her.
