Given to manager Mick Harford in 2009
I am a life long supporter of Luton Town (since 1976), in 2009 they won the Football League Trophy at Wembley Stadium in front of 55,000 fans, beating higher ranked Scunthorpe 3-2 in a dramatic final.
I painted this to commemorate the win.
I asked the club if I could present it to manager, and former legendary Luton player, Mick Harford at the end of the season.
The club kindly arranged for me and my Dad, Bryan, to meet Mick at the last game of the season.
Mick was thrilled with the painting and said he would put it up in his home, he also invited me and my Dad into his manager’s office where many former players were gathered for an end of season drink. We had a wonderful evening chatting to them all.
I met Mick again the following season as the team coach arrived for a game, Mick recognised me and said he still has the painting in his home.
